The windows rattled, and the hologram pedestal shook. Lieutenant Rali was trying to keep calm as the floor shook around him and floating objects fell to the ground. His He screamed three words before his connection was severed.
They are coming.
It seemed that a gust of wind blew past Rali, breaking this connection to his holoprojector. When the connection returned, he was nowhere to be found. His projection fritzed out one last time, and the entire city went black.
It’s not that bad, really. Living in this sort of time. I mean, imagine the people who lived a hundred years ago! Their technology was so… archaic. What even is a toaster anyway? All our food is just… handed to us. Most of us don’t even know where it comes from. All we know is that Archaeon creates most of it. Everyone tells us it’s 5D printing, or something. How would those natives have survived total planetary destruction without Archaeon or the G.I.?
The weirdest part of this whole apocalypse thing is that no one’s ever seen the… things that are causing it. They are definitely not human. But they are definitely deadly.
Oh, I almost forgot. I’m Naia. And you are witnessing history.
